there is a moment (43 seconds into the video to be precise), where red type appears on a black background. - this is striking to me for several reasons: 1. the only other time i see type in this sort of treatment is when the point of view shifts from you to adam-- with the local-schmocal (--funny, btw). 2. even though i assume you both are using these as a separation between videos-- i think its striking in a good way. ^^ i would almost like to see more of the bold red type (and turquoise type) on the black background--- and maybe perhaps only at vital times; the infographics generally show the red and turq on a white background, which for me does not necessarily have the same impact; or perhaps your arguments (infographs) were to reside on a black background versus adam's on white?
this may just be me (and my lack of sleep) --- but i continue to interpret the red vector illustration as bad, and the green as good; however, i know that from previous engagement with this video, that the colors are simply depicting local and non-local. ---- as much as i hate to say this, the red is sending me a bad connotation-- unless you are telling me not to buy from the locals :o)
as a concluding statement, - i actually am having trouble critiquing this, as i believe that the changes have helped it astronomically. the type looks much better, the info graphics are no longer rigid- so much fewer distractions.
i think that the music is interesting-- - and that it certainly gives an educational feel; much like a PBS special, which really gives me the feeling that this is a credible source for information on whole foods.
There are a lot of good improvements with the type. By taking the type and separating it from the images makes better legibility and has a greater impact on the viewer. I think the timing alowed for reading the type was also improved. Also with having the type on a solid backgrounds really helps. In the origional there was a stipe patter for the info graphics, making the astedics look dated and the type not stand out as well. Good work.
I also think by adding more dramatic changes helps keep an interest for the viewers. For example, changing the back-drop from images of produce to solid black and narrowing in on the true 40% really creates the kinds of change needed to give contrast. With any length of video it is important to have changes or the who experience become unmemorable.
Over all you have made good improvements but I still think there is more room to tell facts on why Whole Foods is untrue.
Wow. what a drastic improvement to the type. :o)
